Southwest Regional Organizers Conference (SWROC)
September 19-21, 2014
A weekend to gather new skills, resources and energy for you and your dance community. Workshop, network, connect, renew, learn, and dance!

We will be continuing the progress of the conference with the Southwest Regional Organizers Coalition. We will keep you posted as this effort progresses.
SWROC is for organizers and would-be organizers of any American/ English dance series in the Southwestern US, including contra, square, English country, family/ community, gender/ role-free, barn dances, weekends, and camps. Dance groups are encouraged to send as many representatives as they need to enhance their dance programs. Start a dance, build an organization, or take your group to the next level – this conference is for you!
The Conference takes place from 6 pm Friday, September 19 to 2 pm Sunday, September 21 at the University of New Mexico Student Union Building (UNM SUB), 1 University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, NM 87131, Rooms: Santa Ana A & B, Fiesta A, and Fiesta B. The conference hotel is the nearby Holiday Inn Express, 1921 Yale Blvd SE, 87106, near the Albuquerque airport. See Location for more information. The weekend includes dinner and a dance Friday, workshops, meetings, networking and discussions on Saturday and Sunday, lunch both days, snacks, and admission to the community dance Saturday evening. Dinner on Saturday night will be on your own with old friends and new acquaintances. Sessions such as dance series management, marketing, finances, audience-building, coordinating dance groups, youth involvement and more will be led by organizers from the Southwest.
Registration and Lodging. Early-bird Registration is $90 ($100 after Aug 5). Scholarships are available. Participants will arrange their own lodging with the Holiday Inn Express. The conference rate is $68/night plus tax until Aug 19, market rate thereafter. Breakfast is included. Participants must book directly with the hotel by Aug 19.
