Paris, October 1. We know not yet the price the victory of
Guastalla has cost us. . . [14 lines detailing many officers
killed and wounded.] However Te Deum was sung on Sunday at
the King's chapel at Versailles, and we shall have, in like
manner, a thanksgiving, and publick rejoicings, I suppose,
all over the Kingdom, altho' many families will be obliged
to do it in mournings. . . [9 lines] But we should have
taken notice, that the Prince of Montaubon arrived the 29th
at Versailles, loaded with advantages of the victory, which
we may not improperly call the cloaths and furniture of this
cold bed of honour, namely several colours, standards, and
coverings of kettle drums, with the Imperial arms upon them.
