Copy of a letter from Capt. Samuel Winder at Mumma-Naney-
Town, to Col. Charles Davis in Kingston Jamaica. . . [report
of march over mountain ridge to Naney-Town.] About 12 we
came in sight of the town, when we were discovered by the
rebels, who immediately began to blow their horns and made a
terrible howling, at the same time they set their town on
fire, which we supposed was intended that they might have an
opportunity to fire upon us, and deprive us of seeing them
through the smoak. . . [10 lines, they take the town.] All
musick we have had for these two days in the balls flying
about our ears. . .
