Boston, November 15. On Saturday last a large bell was
raised, and placed in the steeple of the West Church in this
town, whereof the Reverend Mr. Hooper is Pastor, which by
good judges is allowed to have the loudest and most
melodious sound of any bell in the country; and we are
inform'd was the generous present of Francis Wilks, Esq; and
some of his friends, who are well wishers to the dissenting
Protestant interest. The bell weighs, without the clapper,
twelve hundred and [ ]ty six pounds.
