From the Champion of September 21. 1742. The following
piece is publish'd by desire, according to the phrase of the
theatres; and need no other introduction than the fine
criticism of Prior's: Much may be right, yet much be
wanting. . . [long report, in the form of a biblical
excerpt, on the activities of Whitefield, and break with
Wesley.]
19. And he [Whitefield] wrote a book of his transactions,
and called it his journal; which contained an exact account
of his way of life, and the times of his singing, and the
numerous reflections that he made, and the piety of his
conversation, and the success he met with; and lo, the same
is to be seen on the stalls at Moor-fields unto this day. .
