patriotic," which he is pleased to bestow upon him. . . [3

Quest. V. Can no shoe-maker in this country suit Captain
Dashwood's nice taste? or, Are your obligations to your old
acquaintance the shoe-maker in Wapping such, as to overcome
your zeal for encouraging the manufactures of our country,
and induce you to import, (as you acknowledged to have done
in a late advertisement) "twelve pair of shoes" for your own
wear at one time, Perhaps they were dancing pumps! . . .
