London, October 26. On Thursday next the Ode for his
Majesty's birth-day, compos'd by Colley Cibber, Esq; Poet
Laureat, and set to musick by Maurice Greene, Esq; Master of
his Majesty's Band of Musick, will be rehears'd at the Devil
Tavern, Temple Bar.
Nov. 2. Saturday last being his Majesty's birth-day, most
of the nobility and gentry in town waited on her Majesty at
St. James's to congratulate her on the same. The court was
very richly dress'd, tho' not so many new cloaths as usual;
so that the fashions were much the same as worn on her
Majesty's birth-day.
At night, just before twelve, the Queen quitted the ball-
room at St. James's, and together with the Duke and the four
Princesses, return'd to Kensington.
Their Royal Highnesses the Prince and Princess of Wales
lay that night at St. James's.
