DIRECTIONS FOR MAKING A CHOUDER.
First lay some onions to keep the pork from burning,
Because in chouder there can be no turning;
Then lay some pork in slices very thin,
Thus you in chouder always must begin.

The delinquent readers of this paper, are desired to get
the above six lines by heart; (it will be a pretty amusement
for 'em) and to consider, that a craving winter is near
approaching.
One of our English poets, (we think Cawley) bewailing his
unhappy circumstances, say,

The curse of curses, an insolvent purse.
