From the St. James's Evening-Post July 27. 1756.
From the London Gazette. . . London, July 27. . . An
express from Sir Benjamin Keene brings advice, that he has
received fresh assurances from the Court of Spain, of its
strict neutrality in the present war between Great Britain
and Spain.
We have received an account from a gentleman of veracity,
that Capt. Charles Catford, Commander of the Captain, having
received a wound in his thigh in the late engagement, it was
proposed to carry him down to the cockpit, on which this
brave officer said, No: This accident will hinder my
dancing, but shall not prevent my fighting. soon after
which he died gloriously.
