From the Monitor; or, British Freeholder. To the Monitor.
Having in conformity to the design of the fast, afflicted my
soul by many deep meditations upon the perilous condition of
the nation,. . . [falls asleep dreaming he's in an ancient
church; 3d para. ] After the office appointed for the day
was ended, and we expected that solemn harmony which springs
from a judicious mixture of the organ and psalmody, our ears
were of a sudden saluted with so sweet a symphony as mortal
ears never heard before; and I observed in the whole
audience, what I felt in myself, the passion of fear mingled
