[Louisbourg has been taken by the British]. . . [3d para.,
Boston] And on Friday last great rejoicing were made in
this and the neighboring towns on the above occasion. at
noon the guns at Castle William were discharged, as were
those on the batteries here and at Charlestown, and also
those on board the ships in the harbour. In the afternoon
Col. Jarvis with his Company of Cadets were under arms, and
made a very fine appearance; the day was spent in firing
guns, ringing of bells, and preparing fire-works for the
evening. . .
