London, November 14 [1758]. . . Letters from Madrid advise,
that the late Queen hath bequeathed her immense riches to
her brother, Don Pedro of Portugal. She hath left a rich
jewel to the King her husband, and another to the King of
Portugal; a suit set with diamonds to each of the King of
Portugal's four daughters, and to the Infanta Isabella,
daughter to the Duke of Parma; a jewel to her high
chamberlain; 4000 pistoles to her confessor; and 100
piastres yearly for defraying the charge of two missions;
3000 pistoles to each of the two Portuguese officers, in
whom she placed most confidence; 1000 pistoles to each of
the gentlemen of her bedchamber; and a diamond of great
value, with all her instruments and books of musick, to
Signor Farinelli.
