The London Gazette gives the following account of the
surrender of the city of Munster on the 21st of last month;
That M. d'Armentiers had advanced, in order to attempt to
raise the siege, but had retired on the 20th inst. whereupon
the governor had desired to capitulate. . . [5th line:] That
dispositions having been made for attacking the French the
next morning, they retreated with precipitation: That M.
Gayon, the French commandant at Munster, sent a trumpet to
demand terms; which being granted him by Compte de Lippe, he
marched out of the town on the 21st:. . .
