To all whom it may concern. Is it not surprising that such a
number of lads should be encouraged to act in characters
unbecoming their callings? Does it not tend to take their
minds off from their business, and instead of making them
good taylors, shoemakers, &c. render them nothing more than
strolling players. Is it not detrimental to their master's
interest, as well as their own health, to have their shews
at such unseasonable hours, when so many children are
obliged to steal from their homes to be of the party?. . .
