VERSES FOR THE EUNUCH.
Occasioned by his last wretched subterfuge, in a new
application of his term, Creature: now insinuating, that the
author of the True-Patriot Pieces is a certain person of the
first distinction in the province.
  The restless eunuch's labouring forge still roars!
  And still poor Ovid his sad fate deplores!
  Still plies the blackening work, with anxious eye;
  And heats and smites and turns the crooked lye!
. . . [A footnote follows]
A DIDDLETUM. Alluding to the Backside, Eight-slav'd Rhime-
Cask, or little Wooden Composition offer'd to us in the last
Edes-And Gill Gazette.
  What cooper has hoop'd up this barrel?
  The chime-hoops are set somewhat ill!
  The Junto seem sick of their quarrel!
  Be uneasy, `poor Toads!' if you will!
