We are informed, that at the desire of the inhabitants of
this town, the Rev. Mr. Wight's building at the south part
of the town, the Old-Brick in the center, and the Rev. Mr.
Eliot's at the north part of the town, are to be opened on
Monday next, at ten o'clock, forenoon, for the purpose of a
public acknowledgement to Heaven, on a day set apart for
rejoicing on account of the appearance of Providence in
behalf of the United States of America, by the capture of
Lord Cornwallis and the whole British army under his
command. An anthem is to be sung before and after prayer;
and a collection then made for the families of those
soldiers belonging to the Continental Army, . . .
