London, February 18. . . Yesterday the corpse of the late
Earl Stanhope was carry'd from his house at the Cock-pit
thro' the city, with great pomp and solemnity, to be
interr'd at Chevening in Kent. The funeral march was begun
by about 700 of the horse and foot guards; the officers
having mourning scarfs, harbands and gloves, the heralds at
arms carryed the ensigns and trophies of the deceased, and
the marshal musick of kettle drums, drums and trumpets,
