Rome, Aug 6. . . The other day, when the Dutchess
Guadaguolo-Conti gave a grand ball to a great many persons
of distinction, who should be there but the Chevalier de St.
George [the Pretender to the British crown], finely dress'd
after the Romish mode, with a crown upon his head? He
open'd the ball with the Dutchess of Lanti, and danc'd very
gracefully; but towards the conclusion of it there were
several figure dances in which he tripp'd it so nimbly that
his crown fell off, which made Pasquin say, that the
Prince's crown was light.
