New York, Sept. 12. On Saturday last came on the election
of a representative to serve in General Assembly for the
city and county of New-York in the room of Capt. Garrit van
Horn, deceased. The electors appeared in the field (the
usual place of elections) about 9 o'clock, with drums
beating and colours flying, trumpets sounding & violins

day till about 9 o'clock at night with great warmth on both
