By the Intrepid, and transports arrived at New-York, from
the Havannah, as mentioned in our last, we have the
following further advices of the important conquest of that
place, viz. . .
[para.4:] On Tuesday the 10th of August, at XII o'clock,
Lord Albermarle sent an officer with a drum, to the
governor, to demand possession of the city, and in case of
refusal, to acquaint him that he would set fire to it the
next morning.----The governor answered that he had 6 months
ammunition, and would defend it to the last extremity. . .
