Extract of a letter from St. Kitts. We the inhabitants of
St. Kitts have the true [torn] loyal spirit of the North
American, [ ]ing and destroying the Stamps:. . . [8 lines]
And on the 5th of November, being gun powder plot, the Stamp
master and his deputy, were carried in effigy through the
town, and in the evening burnt in the Common Pasture; The
evening concluded with an elegant supper, drums beating and
French horns playing; and the last toast [ ] was, Liberty,
Property, and no Stamps. December 10, 1765.
