New-York, May 26. On Tuesday last we were favoured with
authenticated, glorious and interesting news of the repeal
of the Stamp Act, from different quarters, which was
instantly spread throughout the city, diffusing joy and
gladness in every face, whereupon all the bells of the
different churches were rung, and the next day the true Sons
of Liberty, who could not with hold any longer their open
and liberal rejoicings, on a matter which so nearly
