Quebec, July 3. Saturday the 28th ult. at 11 o'clock in
the forenoon, his Excellency the honourable James Murray,
Esq; governor of this province, embark'd on board the ship
Little William, Cap. John Grant, for England.
The same day, at 11 o'clock at night, arrived in this city
from London, on board the Commerce, Capt. Johnson, Mr.
Briand, Bishop of Quebec for the Roman Catholicks, who
manifested on this occasion all their affection for what
concerns their religion. On the day following, at 5 o'clock
in the morning, the bells of all their churches announced
his arrival to the whole city, which gave such general
satisfaction to the Canadians, that many of them were seen
