Boston, November 13. . . [3d para:] We are informed, from
undoubted authority in England, that when the Commissioners
fled to the Castle in order to alarm the ministry, and to
obtain troops, they (in addition to all the exaggerated
accounts and misrepresentations made by them, and Governor
Bernard, of the tumult of the 10th of June) transmitted a
fresh, false and inflamed account of the defeat of the
Custom-House-officers in attempting to make a seizure at
Capt. Malcom's in 1766, with the tolling of the Old-North
bell as a solemn warning for a general insurrection, and all
the horrible rebellious circumstances described and
attending that affair,. . . [last 2 lines:], notwithstanding
the solemn sound of the Old-North bell, if it sounded at
all.
