Last Tuesday were interred the remains of Captain Charles
Hay, late of his Majesty's sloop of war Tamar. The
procession was preceeded by a company of Marines. The
governor and the admiral were chief mourners, who were
followed by the officers of the Navy and others, chiefly the
commissioners of the customs and their core. Minute guns
were discharged from on board the Tamer, three vollies at
the place of interment. The band of music which attended
this funeral, occasioned a great concourse of people. It is
said that Capt. Hay was a gentleman of merit, who deserved a
more honorable command.
