From the camp before Barcelona, July 26. We begun yesterday
morning to batter this place with 74 pieces of cannon and 14
mortars, and this day from a new battery of 12 guns. . . [22

or trumpeter, to stop them in the head of the trenches and
send them back; in a word, to return there no answer till
they beat a parley. Tis said they have resolved to put all
their children and women on board their ships, and send them
