St. James's. Thursday last being the day appointed for a
general thanksgiving to Almighty God for the King's happy
and peaceable accession to the throne, . . . [6 lines] the
city companies in their liveries were in their respective
stands, the streets being lined by the militia: The guns in
the park were fired on a signal at the singing of Te Deum in
the Cathedral, as they were also at his Majesty's setting
out from, and return to his palace; And at night there were
illuminations, bonfires, and other publick demonstrations of
joy.
