Venice, Feb.17th. On the 7th instant was represented in St.
Marks place the publick shew that is usual at this time of
the year, which place was surrounded with scaffolds, and the
windows on all sides crouded with spectators of all ranks;
the diversions consisted of a baiting of about 62 bulls and
two bears, the heads of two oxen were cut off, and a man was
seen in the air sliding on a rope from the steeple of
St.Mark to the Church Disamgenteniano, trumpets and kittle
drums playing while the diversion lasted.
