Hanover, (in Germany,) June 2. We hear from the Palatinate,
that the Papists of the Principality of Veldeus lately
undertook a very extraordinary procession, in order to make
themselves, by means of this stratagem, masters of the
Protestant Church in the village of Burgen; in the mean time
the Reformed body of this neighbourhood, having got a
private hint of their design, put themselves betimes upon
their guard, and sounded the alarm-bells, upon which the
Calvinists assembled from all quarters, and came in great
numbers to their assistance; insomuch that the Papists were
obliged to retreat, and in vain threaten the others, who
carried off all their arms, &c.
