London, Aug. 26. The altar piece at the Church of St.
Clements Dane, being a choir of angels represented in
consort, having been variously censured, some finding in it
St. Cecilia playing on the organ; and others, the Princess
Sobieski and her son, has been order'd by the Lord Bishop of
London, to be taken away, upon complaint made to him at his
last visitation of the said church.
The societies for the reformation of manners having
commenc'd a prosecution against a vintner in Drury-Lane, for
keeping a lewd and disorderly house, he yesterday gave bail
before Justice Ellis, of Pall Mall, to answer the same.
