Madrid (the capital of Spain ) Aug.14.1725. There has been
published here a description of the Royal bull fight holden
upon the 30th of July last, on occasion of the Infanta's
arrival; and because very few foreigners have any notion of
that entertainment, it may not be amiss to give our readers,
first, an account in general of this diversion no where
practiced but in Spain and Portugual, and then what was
particular in the bull-fight. . . [2 lines] we should
premise some account of the manner, the place, and people
that appear in it. . . [12, para.4, line 12:] which being
granted by his Majesty, the master of the horse throws down
the key, and it is a great honour for him that takes it up.
at the same time, the kittle-drums, trumpets and hautbois
proclaim the fight; and the door is open'd for the bull,
that runs furiously at the torreadors. . . [5 paras. more]
