Canterbury, Octo.6 A new ring of eight bells is to be cast
for the Arundel Steeple of the Cathedral, in order to which
the six old are taken down, which are found to be cast at
different times, and all since the Reformation, but the 3d,
which has this inscription, T.G. Prior, Sancte Thoma, or pro
nobis, i.e. St. Thomas pray for us. The 6th bell was cast
1408, and dedicated to the Holy Trinity, but since cast anew
1614.
