To the Author of the London Journal. Sir, being inform'd by
the Publick Prints, that his Majesty has been pleas'd to
order the proper instruments to pass the seals, for creating
his eldest son, the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince of Wales; I
thought it not improper, in this happy occasion, to
transcribe for the use of your paper, part of a letter
written from Hanover about eleven years ago, by Anthony
Hammond, Esq; a gentleman distingush'd in every kind of
polite knowledge who then resided at that court. . . [8
lines]
Nothing can be more agreeable than the person of this young
Prince. . . [7 lines] He applies himself to his exercises,
riding, dancing and fencing, with great assiduity. . . [12
paras.]
