From the Daily Journal, Dec. 8. Amsterdam, Dec. 9. They
write from Dresden, of the 2d instant, that the King of
Poland enjoys perfect health; that his Majesty continued to
take much pleasure in the two battalions of Tall Grenadiers
newly formed; that those left in Poland are to compose a
third battalion; that their pay, at the beginning of the New
Year is to be 3 Rix dollars each man per month; that the
caps which are preparing for these troops will be so rich
that they will cost about 16 Rix-dollars each; that the 29th
past there was a splendid ball at the Palace of Flemming, on
occasion of the birth day of the Countess Ozzelska; that
the whole court was present at the said ball, which lasted
till 4 next morning; that the said ball was preceded by a
comedy, made in honour of that young lady; that her cloaths
were that day extraordinary magnificent; that she wore on
her head diamonds of more than a million value, lent her by
the King; and that she had also a knot of diamonds of great
value.
