Boston By Capt. Roby who arrived here on Friday last in
about six weeks from Plymouth, we have the following advices
from the publick prints: . . .
Exon, October 2. The ten bells at St. Peters (four whereof
have been recast by Mr. William Evans, of Chepstow, in the
County of Monmouth, viz treble, fifth, eighth and tenor; the
tenor weighing 705 a l. and in diameter 5 foot 10 inches and
half, in C. Consort pitch) were opened on the 23d of Sept.
last, to the great satisfaction of the judges thereunto
appointed, and likewise of all that heard them. Note, the
tenor is the largest in England, in Peal.
