Paris, July 27. N.S. We find that the taking of Oran has
diffused a general joy throughout the Kingdom of Spain,
fireworks, illuminations guns, trumpets, drums, guittars and
all other instruments of peace, war, and musick, have
published the satisfaction of the people, as to the great
expence that has been made on the occasion; and since they
have got something for their money, they seem well enough
disposed to raise more Armadas, and undertake new
enterprizes, whenever the King can look about him, for as
they say, the physicians observe, that a little business
and employment, such as acquitting new countries and the
conquest of towns, unbends the mind, and gives his Catholick
Majesty more relief than all the remedies they can prescribe
of the Galenical kind.
