Paris, Aug. 16. There was shewed to the King at
Versaillies, a few days ago, a clock newly brought hither by
some Englishmen. it resembles an organ, and shews all the
various movements of the country, as wind-mills, water-
mills, carts going and coming, &c. There are also the nine
muses, and Orpheus beating time with wonderful exactness,
while the organ plays several airs to perfection, and the
spectators hear the melodious notes of above 25 singing
birds. In short, it is a master-piece in its kind, and gave
the King and Queen, and the whole court, an entire
satisfaction. The owners have obtained permission to shew
this machine all over the Kingdom.
