By Capt. Lee who arrived here last Friday in 6 weeks, from
Toptham and Capt. White who arrived last Lord's Day in about
8 weeks from London, we have the following advices, viz.
London: March 7, 1734. Extract of a letter from Oxford.
As the unfeigned and universal respect which this University
paid to his Highness the Prince of Orange upon his visit
here, is the present subject of conversation in all parts of
England, for the behaviour of his Highness has filled every
mouth here with applause: His Highness has won the hearts
of the whole University [He was awarded the degree of Doctor
of Laws.] . . The University Orator answered his Highness;
after which Mr. Powell sung a Latin song in praise of the
Prince.
