London, August 12. 1737. Letter from Florence, July 27.
The Electress Dowager Palatine, in quality of regent, has
order'd all pensions to be continued. That Princess has
also taken possession of an immense treasure belonging to
the late Great Duke;. . . [6 lines] This morning at break
of day, the arms of the house of Medicis, were taken down
from over the principal gate of the Royal Palace, and those
of the new Great Duke put up in their place, accompanied
with the sound of trumpets and kettle-drums belonging to the
guards.
