From the London Gazette. Extract of a letter from St.
Ildefonso, dated Sept.11. The Court of Spain has not been
for a long time so numerous, brilliant and gay, as it is at
present at the Castle of Ildefonso. The perfect health
which the King enjoys, and the good humour his Catholick
Majesty is in, give an air of content to the whole court
which is sensibly observ'd. Pleasures are agreeably
diversify'd at S.Ildefonso, walking, fishing, hunting, plays
exhibited by the Royal Family and concerts of musick, which
last is the evening's diversion. Farinello's fine voice is
always admir'd in those concerts, expecially by the King,
who is never tir'd with hearing him. To those amusements a
martial diversion will succeed, which will serve for the
instruction of the Princes of the Royal Family, at the same
time that it contributes to divert their Majesties. . . [4
