London, July 5. Yesterday the treasure taken by Admiral
Anson, [from the Aquapulco shop in the South Seas]
consisting of 298 chests of silver, 18 chests of gold, and
20 barrels of gold dust, was carried through the city in
thirty-two waggons, preceded by a kettle-drum, trumpets, and
French horns, guarded by the seamen, commanded by the
officers, and was lodg'd in the tower; on the first waggon
was the English colours, with the Spanish ensign under it,
and every third or fourth waggon carried some trophy of
honour, which had been taken from the Spaniards in the South
Sea, as well as from the Aquapuleo ship.
Their royal Highnesses the Prince and Princess of Wales and
Admiral Anson, were at a house in Pallmall, to see the
procession.
