Further accounts of the destruction of Fort DuQuesne.
Philadelphia, Decem. 14. . . with the agreeable news of the
enemy's having blown up and abandoned that important
fortress, on the approach of the army under his [General
Forbes] command. . .
On Monday last there were great rejoicings in this city, on
account of the success of his Majesty's arms, under the
command of Brigadier General Forbes. . . The whole concluded
with ringing of bells, bonfires, illuminations, firing of
rockets, &c. And every thing was conducted with the
greatest order of decency.
