opera began at a Covent-Garden theatre, two Scotch officers
in their plaids, came into the pit, where they had not sat
long before the people in the galleries began to call out,
No Scotch: No * * * *; Out with them. They at last grew so
vehement, that some people began to be afraid of bad
consequences, but upon the curtain drawing up, the clamour
ceas'd.

illustrating her meaning, "That when Princes are oppressive
in their government, subjects have a right to affect their
liberties,: there was a general shout and plaudit.
