London. June 14. Wednesday evening Mr. Shuter spoke an
epilogue riding on an ass, at Covent-Garden house; but it
being somewhat difficult to get the sluggish animal for ward
on the stage, the house seemed very much diverted with Mr.
Shuter's ridiculous situation; that excellent humourist,
however, soon changed the laugh at him to one with him; by
declaring the ass was greatly disconcerted, it being his
first appearance on the stage. This happy get-off was
received with the approbation which it merited; and he went
thro' his epilogue to the universal satisfaction of the
spectators.
