Boston, March 8. 1773. Friday last being the anniversary
of the 5th of March, when agreeable to a vote of the town a
meeting was called, . . . [14 lines] At night a select
number of the friends of constitutional liberty, met at Mrs.
Claphams in Kingstreet, and exhibited on the balcony a
lanthorn of [ ]-rent paintings, having in front a lively
representation of the bloody massacre which was perpetrated
hear that spot on the 5th of March 1770. . . [12 lines] In
one of the chamber windows was exhibited the following
lines.
Canst thou, spectator, view this crimson'd scene,
And not reflect what these sad portraits mean?
