Octo. 31. Yesterday being the birth-day of his majesty King
George, who then enter'd into the 58th year of his age, the
morning was usher'd in with the ringing of bells; . . .
after which the ode for his majesty's birth-day, composed by
Colley Ciber, Esq, Poet-Laureat, and set to musick by Dr.
Green, Master of majesty's band of musick, was performed.
As soon as the guns were fir'd at the park and tower of
London, the bells began again at the several churches
