Portsmouth, January 6. Agreeable to the design of the Sons
of Liberty to sacrifice the infamous abettors of the stamp-
act to their just resentment, they assembled last Friday on
the parade, when the effigy of G--ge G--Ville made his
appearance. . . before him was affixed the following lines
addressed to the public.
Come view G--ge G--ville with attention,
Mark this vile stamp, his rare invention.
And here, behold him at the stake,
Observe how ev'ry limb does shake,
