Quebec, July 3. The same day, at 11 o'clock at night,
arrived in this city from London, on board the Commerce,
Capt. Johnson, Mr. Briand, Bishop of Quebec, for the Roman
Catholicks, who manifested on this occasion all their
affection for what concerns their religion. On the day
following, at 5 o'clock in the morning, the bells of all
their churches announced his arrival to the whole city,
which gave such general satisfaction to the Canadians, that
many of them were seen to shed tears thro joy.
