Flogikgham, Sept. 27, 1766.
In your paper, be pleased to insert, the following lines, in
answer to that malicious, reproachful, and base paragraph,
published against the worthy S----l W-----h, Esq; under the
fictitious name of Lemuel Worthless, Esq; deceas'd, that
which stain'd the papers of Edes & Gill, on Monday the 22d
instant, and so much complain'd of, by all ranks of people,
the reading of which at once struck me with horror, and
detestation for the vile author. . . [Paragraph quotation]
Within this age, and shorter time we'll find,
Impious thoughts, and rancor sways mankind:
Some to the heavens, are extol'd on high
And sent with speed, above the lofty sky.
. . . [11 more lines] [signed] A Sojourner.
