London, Dec 4. The audience at Mr. Foot's Theatre at
Edinburgh, calling out repeatedly for the Minor, and not
acquiescing to the first excuse, Mr. Foote himself made his
appearance, and in Latin intimated to the house, that the
principal subject of ridicule having paid nature's great
debt, he humbly submitted to their reflection, whether such
an exhibition would be seemly. . .
Enquiry has been made whether there was no reply to Lord C--
-m; we can at present find only the following:
In answer to the sentiments of this great patriot, another
orator, well known under the title of a remarkable
impeaching character in the Beggar's Opera, remarked. . .
